Medical Committee

Prof Tim Price
Professor Tim Price trained in Medical Oncology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and completed a Gastrointestinal Fellowship at The Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research, London. He is currently Head of Clinical Oncology Research at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woodville. He is also the Clinical Director of the BRAGG Comprehensive Cancer Centre for South Australia. He is Chair of the current Australian Cancer Council NHMRC Colorectal Guidelines committee and a board member COSA. He is the immediate past Chair of the AGITG and GI Cancer Institute (2013 to 2020) and remains a Board Director. In addition, Prof Price is an associate editor for the British Journal of Cancer and ESMO Gastrointestinal Oncology.

A/Prof David Wong
A/Prof David Wong is a dual qualified radiologist and PET/nuclear medicine specialist. He is the director of PET and Nuclear Medicine at I-MED Radiology Network at The Wesley Hospital and is an associate professor with the Centre for Advanced Imaging and Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology at the University of Queensland. He graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School and completed his radiology training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. After completing his Nuclear Medicine fellowship at St Vincent’s and Prince of Wales Hospitals in Sydney, he undertook PET training at Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute in Melbourne. He then completed a cardiac MRI fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St Louis, Missouri USA and MBA with CQU. A/Prof Wong has been with the first PET centre in Queensland at The Wesley Hospital since 1999. Through the Wesley Hospital, David was involved in the Australian prospective multi-centre PET Data Collection. He has received several research and scientific awards including the Rouse Travelling Fellowship and Brian Smith Memorial Award. In 2017, he was awarded the Marquis Who's Who - Lifetime Achiever. David has certification/recognition of legacy experience in theranostics in the advanced category. He is also a certified reader by Piramal Imaging for Florbetaben (amyloid) PET. Currently David is a member of the UnitingCare Human Research Ethics Committee and honorary Fellow of the Wesley Research Institute. In July 2014, he was instrumental in the first Ga68PSMA PET CT studies in men with prostate cancer in Australia, and in August 2017, started the first Lutetium PSMA therapy for men with advanced prostate cancer in Queensland at the Wesley Hospital in Brisbane. Dr David Chan
David Chan is a medical oncologist appointed at the Royal North Shore Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital. David is experienced in the management of gastrointestinal malignancies however he has a clinical interest in neuroendocrine tumours (NETs). After completing his medical oncology training at Royal North Shore Hospital, he undertook overseas training in NETs at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed research articles and has been invited to speak nationally and internationally. He is an active member of COSA, ASCO, ENETS and COMMNETs. He was elected the chair of the NET committee for COSA in 2019.

Dr Sanjay Mukhedkar
Dr Sanjay Mukhedkar is a Medical Oncologist at St John of God (Murdoch) and ICON Cancer Centre (Rockingham). He was born and raised in Hyderabad, India. He graduated from Osmania Medical College, post graduated in General Surgery. Together with his wife, they migrated to New Zealand in 1995 then relocated to Manhattan, New York, where he completed an MD in Internal Medicine in Columbia University NY. He started Medical Oncology training in Waikato, New Zealand, and completed this at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth. Sanjay has an interest in the treatment of lung cancer and cancers of the gastrointestinal tract.

Daniel Bucki-Smith is a nuclear medicine professional with over 25 years of experience, including a signifcant tenure as Chief Nuclear Medicine Scientist at Barwon Health's University Hospital Geelong. Currently, he serves as the Head of Strategic Development at Global Medical Solutions Australia (GMSA), where he oversees key strategic projects, manages resources, and liaises with planning authorities to ensure project success. Previously, as Operations Manager at GMSA’s Tullamarine Radiopharmacy, Daniel managed the centralised production and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals across multiple states, ensuring compliance and quality while training and mentoring staff. His leadership extends beyond his professional roles; he has served as President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine (ANZSNM) and held various board positions, including the ANZSNM Accreditation Board. An experienced educator, Daniel has been involved in training nuclear medicine students and interns and has presented at numerous scientific meetings and conferences. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiations from RMIT and has completed postgraduate courses in CT for Nuclear Medicine Technologists as well as a Harvard Manage Mentor leadership course. His commitment to the field is reflected in his extensive research contributions, and also participation in community activities, including volunteering with the Victorian State Emergency Service and Cycling Without Age.

Nicholas Trpezanovski
Nic has over 25 years’ experience in the Healthcare space. Starting his career clinically in Nuclear Medicine, then moving into the commercial health environment. During his time with several multinationals, he was able to gain valuable expertise in various fields, such as medical imaging, orthopaedics/surgery, infection control, ICU, trauma and digital health. Nic was able to gain a real proficiency in commercialising new opportunities and developing their potential. In the past few years he has successfully helped companies fund, enter and grow in the healthcare space.

Samantha McSherry brings over 16 years of experience in the medical industry, including eight years specializing in Nuclear Medicine and launching a first-in-class theranostic therapy. She has held senior commercial roles at Novartis and Telix Pharmaceuticals, successfully bringing multiple theranostic products to market in both Australia and the United States.

He was involved in removing access barriers within the reimbursement sector enabling a dual mechanism through which Radiopharmaceuticals can be assessed (MSAC & PBAC). As the CEO of the consulting firm Rock8 Science, Charlie has deep industry connections and experience helping clients grow their business.
